Isle Royal on and off
duty crew members support the crew of a Chinese merchant ship in Kaoshsiung with her aft hold on fire. Notice the list  as tons on water and fire retardant foam where pumped into the hold. Captain Kubel (arrow) is standing in the middle of the picture overseeing the action. As always Isle Royal saved the day, and we found the ships liquor stores below decks and saved those too, RIGHT!!

Vertical Replenishment(VER-REP) while Isle Royal was in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Moments after this picture was taken the helicopter crashed on the aft landing deck of Isle Royal. The pilot got to close to large antennas on top of the hanger and the blades hit one. The chopper landed half on the deck and half in safety wire around the landing deck. No one was hurt. I was there taking pictures with R.P. Wells at the time. Had to use large crane from dockside to lift chopper off Isle Royal.
